| Description | OTAN invites California adult education teachers, administrators, and technology leaders from WIOA Title II funded agencies to participate in a focus group reviewing a proposed revision of the Teacher Self-Assessment, a survey used as part of agencies' Annual Momentum Plan (AMP; formerly known as the Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP)). The survey is designed to help agencies better understand teachers' technology integration strengths, challenges, and professional development needs. Information gathered through the survey may support agency planning efforts, including AMP goal setting, annual and three-year plans, WASC accreditation, and Federal Program Monitoring (FPM).
During this interactive focus group, participants will review the survey introduction, questions, response options, and technology competency areas from a teacher's perspective. Attendees will provide feedback on the clarity and usefulness of survey questions, identify potential gaps or redundancies, evaluate whether response choices are meaningful and actionable, and recommend improvements to examples, descriptions, and supporting language.
The goal of this session is to ensure the survey generates reliable, valuable data that administrators can use to develop effective technology-related AMP goals and professional learning opportunities for adult education instructors. Participants are encouraged to offer candid feedback and suggestions that will help strengthen the survey before implementation.
