Session 1: Getting Started with Canvas
This hands-on training will help adult education teachers and staff become familiar with using Canvas for resource sharing, instruction, and communication. Participants will explore key features of the LMS and practice using the basic tools needed to set up and manage a course. Time for practice and questions is included.
What we’ll cover:
  • Why Canvas? Benefits for educators, staff, and students
  • Navigating the LMS: tour of key features
  • Creating a resource hub: adding pages, files, links, images, and videos
  • Communicating with students: Inbox and announcements
  • Finding support: Canvas Help and training resources
