Description

This session is designed for adult education admin, teachers and support staff who are curious to understand and how to use the power of artificial intelligence (AI) in the adult education classroom or school site. As technology continues to enhance the education landscape, educators need to explore and learn AI concepts as well as how to use AI safely in their own instructional practices.

During this 3-hour, hands-on workshop, topics may include but are not limited to:

  • what is AI? Including key concepts, bias, and stereotypes
  • AI you've been using (without realizing it),
  • Basics of AI Prompting: crafting prompts for effective results
  • Creative Content Generation: Explore how to create quick and easy lessons plans, educational materials and assessments
  • how students can use AI as a tutor or writing reviewer,
  • ethical uses of AI for both instructor and student,
  • hands-on time to practice and use several online AI tools,
  • and more as time allows and as questions are answered.

Prerequisites:

  • All participants must have basic computer skills and a valid email address.
  • Familiarity with ChatGPT or Google's Gemini is suggested but not required.
