This session will dive into ChatGPT, one of several large language models (LLM) that uses generative AI. Through a series of activities, practical exercises, and real-world student case studies, adult education staff will gain an understanding of ChatGPT's capabilities, applications, and potential to enhance classroom lessons, workflows, creative endeavors, and problem-solving skills.

Session Objectives include but are not limited to:

  1. Basics of Prompt Engineering: attendees will learn to craft effective prompts
  2. Creative Content Generation: Explore how to create quick and easy lessons plans, educational materials and assessments . For students, find out how to use Chat GPT as a tutor or writing reviewer.
  3. Ethics: All sessions will contain a section on ethical uses of AI for both instructor and student use.
Be prepared to participate and bring home a whole new wealth of ideas and knowledge for implementing generative AI in your classrooms.

Upon request, this title can be scheduled as a scaffolded workshop series where each session builds upon the last.

  • All participants must have basic computer skills and a valid email address.
  • Additional requirements may apply depending on the topics requested for the session.
OTAN Certificates of Attendance are awarded only for workshop sessions to those that are pre-registered and attend at least 75% of the scheduled time.
