Description

This three-hour, in-person training is designed to help adult education teachers and staff get comfortable using Canvas for daily instruction and communication. Whether you're new to the platform or need a refresher, this session will walk you through the basic tools you need to build and manage a Canvas course.

You’ll learn how to organize course materials, post assignments, and communicate with students. The training includes hands-on practice and time for questions, so you can apply what you learn right away.

What we’ll cover:

  • Navigating the CANVAS Dashboard
  • Creating a home page
  • Understanding the difference and when to use pages vs assignments
  • Creating modules and adding pages or assignments
  • Posting Announcements
  • Using Canvas Help and training resources
  • Accessibility & Immersive Reader tips for adult learners
  • Where to find answers and ongoing support
