Name Instruction: SMART Goals - Planning and Classroom
Date 8/2/2022
Time 08:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Description

This online workshop will address SMART Goal Planning and/or Classroom.

Goal setting is a crucial step for adult education students to persist in their studies as well as for adult education programs to reach their objectives. Many adult educators use SMART goals, defined as Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound, as a framework to help students and programs set goals.

This workshop will address either SMART Goals in the Classroom or SMART Goal Planning.

SMART Goals in the Classroom will be geared towards SMART goal setting in the adult education classroom. This workshop will introduce how to work with students to set, monitor, and achieve their SMART goals.

SMART Goal Planning will address learning how to create effective SMART goals for inclusion in an agency's Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) or other agency deliverables, using real-life examples from adult educations programs to demonstrate effective and ineffective goals using the SMART goal framework.

Please note that, where all are welcome to register and attend, this workshop is specifically tailored for WIOA funded adult education agencies in California

An OTAN Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to those that have pre-registered and attend at least 75% of the scheduled time.

OTAN workshops may be requested, customized, and scheduled by qualifying adult education agencies for their staff as targeted professional development.

OTAN workshops may be conducted as a "hands-on”, where participants are asked to provide their own devices, as “presentations” where a product or ideas are introduced, or as a discussion where all are encouraged to participate in a conversation around a specific idea or topic.

The desired outcome of every OTAN workshop is that participants will have a working understanding of the application or topics discussed and modeled.
