Date | 8/1/2022 |
Time | 08:30 AM - 11:30 AM |
Description | A website is used to disseminate information providing easy 24/7 access. This workshop is designed to illustrate how to build a web site to showcase resources for academic or professional purposes. A continuation of Google Sites Series, this workshop will revisit a few basic features and then dive into intermediate and advanced Google site-building functions. Themes, pages, adding resources as well as layouts and design principals will be revisited and discussed. The main focus will be adding resources: from other sites, Google Drive, attaching files, and embeds. Participants will have a basic working web site to use a resource guide or repository for their class if they choose to follow along with the hands-on activities. Homework may be assigned at the end of the session. An OTAN Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to those that have pre-registered and attend at least 75% of the scheduled time.

OTAN workshops may be requested, customized, and scheduled by qualifying adult education agencies for their staff as targeted professional development. OTAN workshops may be conducted as a "hands-on”, where participants are asked to provide their own devices, as “presentations” where a product or ideas are introduced, or as a discussion where all are encouraged to participate in a conversation around a specific idea or topic. The desired outcome of every OTAN workshop is that participants will have a working understanding of the application or topics discussed and modeled.
