Generative Artificial intelligence is transforming the way educators create engaging class activities and create instructional materials. In this interactive session, participants will learn practical ways to leverage AI tools for efficiency, creativity, and personalization in their teaching. The session will include a review of lesson planning and an introduction to and practice using hands-on some of the countless education-specific AI tools for a variety of purposes:

• Generating reading passages and questions
• Creating interactive games for retrieval practice
• Making authentic practice activities for CASAS and EL Civics assessments
• Supporting students with employment readiness (resumes, cover letters, job interviews) 
• Engaging students in personalized and memorable learning experiences

All registered participants are asked to come prepared with a lesson plan or idea for one and/or a text or video (URL or file) that are part of the teaching/learning materials for the lesson. Note: If you have a Gmail account, that will speed up the registration process for the free resources that will be used. 

Participants will leave with a list of optional tasks for exploration/experimentation to complete before the third session, with an optional drop-in support session on Thursday, August 7, 12 - 1:30 p.m.
