|Date||Friday, November 04, 2022|
|Time||09:00 AM - 12:00 PM|
Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google. Drive allows users to store files in the cloud, synchronize files across devices, and share files. As part of Google Workspace, Drive is the container for the Google productivity apps Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Draw, and Sites.
Google Docs is the text editing and processing component of Google’s online office tools in Google Workspace. The free online app allows users to write varying types of reports, collaborate on projects in real time, keep notes, and more. More than a text editor, different settings, tools, and add-ons within Google Docs allow users to create interactive documents, share and collaborate with others, complete research from within, voice type, translate, and create drawings within Docs.
This workshop will cover basics of Drive including creating, searching and finding files, uploading files, organizing tips and tricks, and Drive settings. Participants will also be walked through editing a Google Doc, sharing, using the Explore and other tools like hands-free typing. Add-ons and special formatting features can be covered as well.
Prerequisites: All participants must have basic computer skills and know their login information for a public Google (@gmail.com) or Google Workspace for Education (@district.org) account.
(*) This title may also be scheduled as a series where each workshop builds upon the previous.
An OTAN Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to those that have pre-registered and attend at least 75% of the scheduled time.

OTAN workshops may be conducted as a "hands-on”, where participants are asked to provide their own devices, as “presentations” where a product or ideas are introduced, or as a discussion where all are encouraged to participate in a conversation around a specific idea or topic.
The desired outcome of every OTAN workshop is that participants will have a working understanding of the application or topics discussed and modeled.
