Description This course guides agency teams in creating an action plan for putting into place the necessary foundations for implementing an integrated education and training (IET) model that align with agency’s IET vision. Agencies must apply as a team consisting of an administrator and a team of two instructors representing two roles: 1) a basic skills (i.e., ABE, ESL) instructor and 2) a technical skills instructor (i.e., CTE). This course takes place entirely online and runs for four weeks, from 9/26/2022 to 10/23/2022. Weekly participation is required, though participants may log in whenever they wish. A kick-off Webinar will take place in the first week, and the date will be announced and posted. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of participation (15 hours); they are also eligible to apply to CSUS for 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) if they wish.

Goals There is no registration fee to participate; CALPRO professional development opportunities are available to all California Adult Education Program (CAEP) agencies and employees. The application deadline is 5:00 pm PT, Thursday, September 22, 2022. Enrollment information will be sent to participants by September 23, 2022.

  • Define key terms and components of IET models; -Identify two specific IET Models
  • Identify four foundations of an IET model
  • Identify which IET model is best suited for his/her program and what next steps need to be taken to begin to implement it
  • Create an action plan for putting into place the necessary foundations for implementing an IET model.
