| Description | This course will examine nine strategies that help learners persist and offer adult educators the opportunity to practice and internalize them. The course focuses on motivation and persistence and is relevant for teachers and instructional leaders from all content areas within adult education. This course takes place online and in person and runs for eight consecutive weeks, from 8/31/2022 to 10/27/2022. Weekly participation is required, though participants may, during a given week, log in whenever they wish. As part of this community of practice, a three-hour workshop will be offered at Hacienda La Puente on Sept. 15, 8:30 to 11:30 am, and a second workshop will be on Oct. 13, 8:30 to 11:30 am. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of participation (16 hours). |
| Goals | There is no registration fee to participate; CALPRO professional development opportunities are available to all California Adult Education Program (CAEP) agencies and employees. This training is hosted by the Hacienda La Puente Adult School. Participants from neighboring districts or regions may be admitted on a space-available basis. Attend both live sessions. Session Dates: Thurs., Sept. 15, 8:30 to 11:30 am and Thurs. Oct. 13, 8:30 to 11:30 am. Registration deadline is Aug. 26, 2022. Notification of acceptance will occur by Aug. 29, 2022.Training begins in Moodle Aug. 31, 2022 and ends Oct. 27, 2022. |
