The CASAS Appraisal Training provides participants with a basic understanding of CASAS appraisals. Appraisals are short tests that provide a quick, general indicator of reading, math, or listening abilities to determine program eligibility, the best program for a student, and a student's placement level within a program. Appraisal results also determine the pre-test level for more in-depth diagnostic purposes. Each unit offers a Self-Test to confirm understanding. A certificate of completion is generated at the conclusion of this training.

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Administer, score, and interpret appraisal test results
• Make recommendations or referrals based on appraisal results
• Collect quality data for placement and referral purposes

Audience: This training is appropriate for those who have little or no experience with CASAS appraisals. (If your organization will also use CASAS pre-and post-tests to document learning gain, please enroll in the CASAS Implementation Training.)

Time Commitment: Allow approximately one hour to complete.

Enrollment Duration: Participants have 30 days from the time when first accessing the training to completing the training.
