Introduction to Designing a Single Set of Learning Objectives for Integrated Education and Training (IET)

Name Introduction to Designing a Single Set of Learning Objectives for Integrated Education and Training (IET)
Start 12/6/2019 12:00 PM
End 12/6/2019 1:15 PM
Description How do we ensure that ESL students in IET programs are acquiring the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in their workforce training? One strategy is to ensure that IET program administrators, CTE and ESL teachers collaborate on IET program design. This webinar provides an introduction to the elements needed for successful team teaching and, specifically, the development of a single set of integrated learning objectives to guide instruction. IET administrators, ESL and workforce training (CTE) teachers will explore approaches and strategies for the planning and successful implementation of integrated programs. Participants will practice developing integrated learning objectives that prioritize both key technical content and the development of adult learners' language and literacy skills. The webinar will include best practice examples from the field, demonstrate some useful IET curriculum planning tools, and provide an opportunity to plan and practice integrating a single set of learning objectives. Audience: Administrators, Coordinators and teachers (adult education ESL and CTE) with experience implementing IELCE/IET or planning to implement them in 2020. Optimally an agency team of one administrator, one ESL lead teacher or coordinator and one CTE teacher would attend.
